We're having a good weekend!
Updates
Herb: Doing a great job as Mr. Mom this week! He had both kids all day on Tuesday and Wednesday while I taught my classes. He delivered Kristen to me for nursings on time and took them to parks for fun. He has two days per week for the next several weeks of Mr. Momming so I was glad that the first week went well for him. Also, he's learning a new decision tree program called Weka.
Jackie: Had a very busy and great week. As mentioned above, I worked two days. Thursday was rest, recover, and clean up the house. Friday Kristin and her daughters came over for a little pool fun. Yesterday we had dinner at a really good restaurant called The Villa with Shana & family. I got a really lovely card from my friend Heidi in the mail - what a nice surprise - on Saturday. Today I need to mow the lawn which, thankfully, will be followed by a shower!
Owen: I got the application in the mail yesterday for the Mother's Day Out program I plan to enroll him in this fall. It's two days per week and he'll be there from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (though it goes to 2:30). I'm approaching it as a practice preschool since 1) he won't be P3 until Fall '07 and 2) the couple of places that are my top choices for preschool for him have waiting lists that are longer than my body. I'm nervous about it but hopeful that he'll enjoy the new experience and friends. I can't help but worry about the other kids in his class, though - I don't want anyone messing up my baby! Bad influences! I had a bad night's sleep last night and I think it was because of the anxiety I have about taking this step in Owen's independence.
Kristen: Has big news - she turned four months old yesterday and also began sleeping for 5-6 hour stretches the night before! In fact, last night I actually woke her up to nurse her b/c I was achy on the right side. She obliged for about three minutes and went back to sleep, and then woke me up about 45 minutes later for a "real" meal. She goes for her checkup and immunizations this week so we'll have weight and length stats for the next post.
