Birthday Girl

What a wonderful birthday I had...

It started with a trip to the donut store where we had a lovely carb-filled breakfast together. Juice (and Mountain Dew for me) too. Then we came home and Kristen and I fell into a coma until around 11:00 a.m. while Herb and Owen fixed the Camry's left headlight and ran some statistics. We opened gifts - I got a very cool tray for starting plants from seed (along with several flower seeds) so Owen and I went outside and planted together while Kristen crawled on the deck, the dogs romped and Herb videotaped the goings-on. Then it was off to Red Lobster for a late lunch. They have the 30 shrimp special going on so both Herb and I had that. Owen was perusing the menu and said, "I'll have the fish." He was pointing at the word, "fish" on the menu and had read it all by himself!!!!!!!!!! We were amazed and proud (and we let him order the fish). Then it was off to Hancock Fabrics, which is going out of business, to clean them out of grosgrain ribbon and appliques for my new business (www.chic-bowtique.com). That's another story, however. After Hancock's, we got Herb's hair cut and he and Owen ran into Wal Mart and picked out a birthday cake. We came home, I cleaned the pool a bit and we had cake. We read books, I talked with my family on the phone, we had a little dinner, cleaned up the kitchen, and then we snuggled together. Owen even toasted me while he ate. He said, "You're a great mom, and happy birthday, and love well....Cheers."

What a perfect, perfect birthday.
